Recruitment Process
Our recruitment process involves finding the candidates with the best skills, experience, and personality to fit our jobs. It requires a series of steps to go through in order to work for Avenues. Have a look at our step by step guide and what to expect!

Once you’ve found a role you’d like to apply for click ‘Apply now’ and complete the short application.
Once submitted, you’ll receive an email acknowledging your application.
A member of the Recruitment team will be in touch to complete a short telephone interview with you.
If shortlisted, your application will be sent to the manager for their review.
If selected to interview the Recruitment team will be in touch to inform you of the available interview dates and times and book this in with you which could take place face to face of virtually.
If you are not selected to interview we will inform you of the decision and can offer feedback.
Avenues wants to find out about you, your values, your transferable skills and your understanding and knowledge of the role and so there will be a mixture of questions about your past experiences as well as competency based question on the role.

The Recruitment team will be in touch as soon as possible after your interview to update you of the outcome. If you’ve been successful then congratulations and we can’t wait for you to start to make a difference to the people we support lives!
We’ll give you a call and confirm the details with you before passing your offer over to our Onboarding team.
We’ll still inform you if you have not been successful and will be able to provide feedback.
Due to the work we do, Avenues will complete your onboarding checks before you can start working with us which can include reference checks, a DBS and covering any gaps in your employment history. We’ll also arrange a visit to one of our services or offices so that we can obtain copies of your ID documents.
But don’t worry! Our Onboarding team will be in touch to let you know all of the things we will need from you!
On your first day you’ll receive a warm welcome from the team where you will start the necessary training and induction.
